They had a great time and learned a lot of new and interesting things about Darlington and politics in General.
Lynee Wood of the Democratic Service created a fantastic schedule for them, which included a lot of impressive events such as attending the town centre board and the UK Youth Parliament team meetings.
Visiting the Mayor of Darlington, the Youth MP and Darlington''s MP Alan Milburn, were some of the highlights of the visit.
They also met a lot of very friendly people, who supported them perfectly such as Gary Arnold of the Youth Service, Steve Rose - Chief Executive of Darlington Partnership and Councillor Tom Nutt.
One of the students said: "For two weeks, we all worked in different companies or organizations such as nurseries, restaurants or the town hall.
At the beginning everyone was a bit worried about conversing in English the entire day, but on the other hand we were all excited about the differences between Britain and Germany.
We stayed in the Kings Hotel in the town centre, which made our life more comfortable, because nearly every work placement was close and easy to reach.
The very friendly staff of the Kings Hotel always listened to our concerns and were very patient with us.
In our spare time we did a lot of exciting activities such as watching "The Young Victoria" at the cinema or playing squash in the Dolphin Centre. We also had a dinner in an Indian Restaurant and on a Saturday we visited the lovely city of York.
All in all, everyone liked this work placement and had a great time in Darlington."
