The "Darlington Stall" was festively lit and decorated with mistletoes, fir branches and other things.
The visitors at the far were enthusiastic about freshly-baked English biscuits, tea, crackers with cheddar, Chester, stilton cheese and a glass of port, mulled wine and other delicious food and beverages. But also several small decorative items were sold.
For us - the members of the Darlington team of our Town Twinning Association - it was a good opportunity to have a talk with many visitors of the fair about England and about Darlington in particular.
Some people told us that they have already been to Darlington as part of an exchange visit between schools, associations or on other occasions.
Thanks to the kind support given by Mr. Alistair Clark, the local Service Officer for the Rhine area of the British Army in Moenchengladbach, we were able to offer original English products which were very attractive for the Mülheim people.
We are all looking forward to open the next Darlington stall on the 2010 Christmas fair in Mülheim - hopefully together with our friends in Darlington!
